We live in perilous times...by Pat Franklin

The good life we enjoy in the west could go up in smoke tonight....
We live in perilous times. There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but there are thousands of nuclear missiles in far more dangerous countries including China and Russia. Our safety and affluence could go up in smoke (radioactive smoke) tonight. But there is an even greater danger, a more perilous threat hanging over each one of us. That is the danger of meeting the Lord Jesus, the Creator of this universe, after we have rejected Him in our lifetime. Even worse, some people think they do know Him, but will realise that they have been worshipping what the Bible terms ‘another Jesus’, a false Christ, at a false, counterfeit church.***(see below) ‘Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him.’ (Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 24 verse 44) Jesus Christ, the Son of God, tells us plainly in the Bible that He is coming back to earth to set up His kingdom. Some people will be ready. Most people will not. To some He will say: ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things. I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.’ To others He will say: ‘I never knew you.’ Those people will know the dark despair of Hell, having missed every opportunity to follow the Saviour. One billion Catholics will realise that they missed out on knowing the true Lord Jesus, because they liked the phony one better. DO NOT BE LIKE THEM! There are only two kinds of people: those who put their trust in the Lord Jesus and are forgiven all their sins; and those who do not truly know the Saviour. The first group will welcome Jesus when He comes back to reign on the earth, and how glad they will be. The others will be covered in shame and will have all eternity to bear their disgrace. The Bible makes it clear that all, ALL, have sinned and fallen short. Not one of us is good enough to impress God. Every one of us needs to be forgiven for the bad things we have thought and said and done. There is only one way to be forgiven. Jesus has already paid the penalty for every one of our sins by dying as a sacrifice on the cross. But the only way we benefit from His sacrifice is if we accept Him as our Saviour. Only then do we stand in the good of what He did for us. If we reject Him, we reject what He has accomplished for us on the cross of Calvary. We then carry the stain of our sins forever. If we accept Christ, our sins are washed away. Jesus said: ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.’ (Gospel of John Chapter 6 verse 47) It does not matter how bad you have been. When the thief on the cross acknowledged the Lord Jesus, Jesus told him: ‘Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.’ Free forgiveness and the free promise of everlasting life! What an offer is on the table! Now is the time and today is the day to ask Jesus to be your Lord and Saviour and to wash away all your sins. The Lord Jesus Christ says to you today: ‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me. To him who overcomes (by putting faith in Jesus) I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.’ (Book of Revelation Chapter 3 verses 20-21) Jesus Christ was horribly tortured and died a terrible death not for His sins – He was the only sinless man who ever lived – but for ours. He is no longer on the cross. He is the Lord of glory, soon to return and rule on the earth with those who love Him. Will you not accept the Lord of glory today as your Lord ? Or will you seal your own terrible fate by rejecting Him every time you hear His name? We urge you to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Look for a Bible-believing church where you can find out more about the Saviour of the world and learn how you can lay up treasure in Heaven by serving Him on earth now. Why work for things that are soon to pass away? The rewards Jesus will give you will last forever! ***A word of warning: there are false Christs and false teachers in abundance, and many false churches. Ask the Lord to lead you to a good church. Do not even think of trying a Catholic church. They teach what the Bible calls ‘another gospel’, ‘another Jesus’ and a ‘different spirit’, which the apostle Paul warned about in Galatians 1:6-9 and 2 Cor 11:4. Our salvation rests on our faith in Christ’s sacrifice, nothing else. Catholics put their faith in their church and attending the ‘sacrifice’ of the mass, when the Bible teaches firmly that there are no more sacrifices (Hebrews Chapters 9 and 10). Do not put your faith in the wrong church because it looks impressive. by Pat Franklin - feel free to copy this article and pass it around.

'Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.'
